Track Record

Privacy Policy

Your record collection belongs to you. Track Record has no advertising, tracking SDKs or separate app account.

Your collection and iCloud

Your records, notes, listening history and saved sleeve photos are stored on your device. If you use iCloud sync, this data also lives in Apple's CloudKit service under your Apple Account. The developer does not operate a server that stores your collection.

If you invite someone to a shared collection, that person can access its records, notes, saved photos and listening history. Sharing uses your Apple Account and Apple's invitation system.

Searches and cover artwork

Searching or scanning a barcode sends the search terms or barcode to metadata providers such as Discogs and MusicBrainz. Cover lookup may contact the Cover Art Archive or Apple's iTunes service. These providers receive normal network information, including your IP address, when you connect. Private collection notes are not sent with these lookups.

Camera, photos and music identification

Camera access is used to scan barcodes and photograph sleeves. The photo picker provides only the images you select. Saved sleeve thumbnails are part of your collection, iCloud sync and full backups.

Music identification uses Apple's ShazamKit. Track Record does not save microphone recordings. ShazamKit creates an acoustic signature to find a match; the audio itself is not sent to Apple. You can use manual entry without microphone permission.

Subscriptions

Apple processes subscription purchases and payment details. Track Record reads verified subscription status to enable subscription features. The developer does not receive your payment card details. You can manage or cancel billing in your Apple Account settings.

Diagnostics

Track Record does not include a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Apple may provide app usage statistics and crash diagnostics through its platform services, subject to your Apple privacy settings. These are used to investigate problems and improve the app.

Removal, backups and your choices

Removing a record puts it in Recently removed so you can restore it. Removal is not immediate permanent deletion, and full backups include removed records. Exported files are saved or shared where you choose. Copies you exported, and copies retained by someone you shared with, are not erased when you leave a share.

Leaving or ending a share can create a local recovery archive. Your device and iCloud copies are managed through the app and Apple's storage controls. The developer cannot inspect or delete your private iCloud collection for you. The support page explains how to get help locating your data.

This website and support

This website is hosted by Vercel. Support requests are handled through GitHub. These providers process technical connection information and any information you choose to provide under their own privacy policies. We do not add advertising or analytics scripts to this website.

Support requests are used to answer your questions and resolve problems. GitHub issues are public, so include a description of the problem rather than private notes or a collection backup. You can edit or delete your own submissions using GitHub's controls.
